We are the Sutton Coldfield Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
An easy walk of around 6 miles around the countryside of Whittington. We start from the Dog Inn and walk towards Whittington Heath golf club where a public footpath crosses the greens. The walk continues through Whittington Barracks and onto the Heart of England Way which we follow towards Lichfield. We then go into Darnford Park and Boley Park and on to Huddlesford to join the Coventry Canal. We follow the canal back to Whittington and along the main street to the Dog. There is a mixture of good tracks, footpaths and canal towpath. There is some road walking between Boley Park and Huddlesford. There are no stiles.
Refreshments available at the Dog Inn after the walk.

Meet at Wyndley Swimming Pool car park 08:45 for car sharing. Directions to the Dog Inn, Whittington: Take the A453 towards Tamworth. At Mile Oak roundabout, take the second exit Plantation Lane towards Hopwas. Continue for 2 miles and at the junction turn left onto the A51 towards Lichfield. After a mile, turn right onto Common Lane into Whittington. At the junction the Dog Inn is on the right. Please park at the very back of the car park behind the pub.
