Overview

The walk starts at Whitwell on the Hill and ends at Castle Howard using field paths and tracks with one stile. We will have a coffee stop at Welburn and from there proceed the Pretty Wood to join the Centenary Way to Bog Hall and then in the direction of Coneysthorpe before skirting Ray Wood and passing  over  New Bridge to rejoin the Centenary Way and then on to Castle Howard. The walk is muddy in places, especially a short section between Whitwell and Welburn. Walking poles and gaiters  are recommended. There may be time for refreshments at Castle Howard whilst waiting for the bus.
