Overview

A strenuous walk from one of my favourote villages on Dartmoor.
Park in the village car park for a couple of pounds or in the larger car park the other side of Cafe on the Green.
There are some steep climbs and lots of open Moor but this gives us fantastic views from Birch Tor and Hookney Tor.
We'll walk through Grimspound and over to Jay's Grave and hopefully see some beautiful colours in the Heathercombe Aberetum. We'll head over to Hound Tor for its beautiful rocks if energy is good and then back to Widecombe.
There are steep climbs, some bogggy ground and some very exposed parts at the top of the climb so please wear boots and bring warm layers, warm drinks and waterproofs. And cake, I encourage cake.
Please keep an eye on the Facebook page as this walk is unlikely to go ahead in truly atrocious weather!
