We walk through the flat fen landscape. A scene far from bleak with hedges bounding the droves, that link the scattered farms, breaking the view's emptiness. We take in Stonea Camp, an Iron Age hill fort lying to the east of Wimblington. The site is a fortified arrangement of banks and ditches, standing just two meters (6 ft 7 in) above sea level, and is the lowest hill fort in Britain.
Huntingdon to Wimblington 19 miles. Travel time approximately 30 minutes.
