Overview

A great walk through Dalby Forest, starting from Thornton-le-Dale there is a steady uphill walk on a road that soon turns into a track (muddy when wet), but with great views over the valley. Then following good forest tracks down to the Shoulder of Mutton and up Sand Dale and then down House Dale to Low Dalby (with  public conveniences). A flat walk back through the Forest along Thornton Dale and Ellerburn to the village.
