Overview
Woodland circular walk in Fox and Coombes woods of Barkham. If you like to walk in woods, do come on this walk as I will be leading you through Fox woods to The Coombes where we will exploring the many paths largely off those sign posted or mapped. Not really suitable for anyone recovering from injury due to risk of tripping on roots, fallen branches and uneven terrain or slipping on wet slopes. Although I intend to avoid climbing over a particularly large fallen tree by using the adjacent field, I cant promise there wont be other fallen trees on the day of the walk. For this reason walking poles/sticks advisable as well as long trousers and long sleeves to avoid bramble and holly scratches as well as walking boots. The 4 miles does not include the view of the "Harry Potter" like Reddam House School over Bearwood Lake due to the very steep descent or the bridleway passing by Barkham Manor which can become particularly muddy. Its a lovely walk which I walk various versions of regularly. Ill book at the Leathern Bottel for lunch for anyone wanting lunch there afterwards and also book a table for those wanting only coffee/drink.
