A leisurely wander around the historic city of Worcester. From the car park we walk down the pavement to the old bridge, cross the road and then pass the New Road cricket ground as we take up the river path with beautiful views of the Cathedral. We will take a leisurely pace as we linger at the Swan sanctuary and the fish pass before crossing Diglis Bridge. We walk passed Diglis lock and through the Marina marking the beginning of the Worcester and Birmingham canal. Here we will have a short break. We then head up the canal path through a more urban section before we cross the main road over to Gheluvelt Park pausing at the interesting war memorial. We cross the park pausing at the benches around the Kynd Folk cafe area (takeaway coffee available) and have another short break providing us with an opportunity to admire the new Kepax Bridge. We will then head down through Pitchcroft/Racecourse footpath back to the car park. Suitable for well behaved dogs dept on short leads throughout.
Paths and short sections of road walking.
