This walk follows mostly Offa’s Dyke path and the Gloucestershire Way. Starting from The Park car park on B4228, we head for Offa’s Dyke path along the old/hill route up toward St Briavels Common until Bigsweir bridge, briefly stopping to view the ruins of Tintern Abbey from the Devil’s Pulpit. Then we turn east away from Offa’s Dyke path into a valley and up to St Briavels, where we have pub stop/lunch. After lunch we head south/south east towards the river Severn to follow the Gloucestershire Way until just before Poors Allotment nature reserve which we cross to return to the cars. Fine views of the Wye valley and river Severn if the weather is kind. The total altitude is approximately 2800 feet.
