Overview

From Haxby we'll walk southwards via the Landings, All Saints and even a fairy trail.  There's lots to see and plenty of break-off points and cafe opportunities on the way to the Blue Bridge at the confluence of the Foss and Ouse.

There were a few sheep in one field and cows in another near the start of the walk, not interested in humans.  There were plenty of bugs about, so repellent advised if you have tasty blood!

At time of writing forecast shows 21 degrees C max and 20% chance of rain, so we might escape heatwave and downpours. and even enjoy "gentle breeze"...

Meet opposite York Theatre Royal to catch the number 1 bus due to depart at 10am via Wiggington to Haxby.

Haxby Memorial Hall is close to the roundabout where Haxby Road arrives at the village. The number 1 bus coming from town turns left, so we just need to cross the road and walk back a short distance to our starting point.

At the Blue Bridge the Foss joins the Ouse. There are various buses on nearby Fishergate or we can walk over the bridge and along the Ouse to the city centre.
