This walk starts from the Forestry England Car Park below the White Horse. We will follow a walking trail from the CP to join a track that leads us past Hood Grange farm before crossing the A170 to reach Lake Gormire. Passing the lake we follow tracks past Tang Hall to reach Boltby.
From Boltby we cross fields to pick up a diagonal track that takes us through the forest to reach the Cleveland Way. Walking along the Cleveland Way we will have good views on a fair day and look down on Lake Gormire . We pass the visitor centre and walk along the side of the airfield before descending the steps back to the CP.
A pole would be useful as a stabiliser on some short descents especially if wet and damp.
Distance is about 10.5 miles and ascent about 1200 feet

Forestry England large CP on Low Town Bank Road near the top. Approaching from Kilburn village go up the hill and car is near the top on the Left Hand Side by a bend, £2.50 all day . Pay by card.
