Walking in the North Cotswolds
A friendly Group that has been in existence for nearly 40 years and offers a varied and interesting programme of walks in the Northern Cotswold area throughout the year. Please note, regrettably, dogs are not permitted on our walks, except for registered assistance dogs. If, after looking at the details of any of our walks if you have any concerns about the route suitability, please contact and discuss with the walk leader beforehand.
We enjoy helping people enjoy walking in the Cotswolds and we are keen to protect our local footpaths. Walking is a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts both health and happiness. Walks are typically 6 - 10 miles at a steady pace. We welcome new members - our walks often include a picnic lunch (or occasionally a pub lunch) which helps create a very sociable atmosphere.
The majority of our walks are centred in the North Cotswold Region but, for variety, we do roam and ramble into other areas. Car sharing is encouraged when walking further afield. We also organise, annually, short Walking Holiday breaks in other parts of the UK in picturesque countryside locations such as Exmoor, the Dales, etc..
Group members also created the North Cotswold Diamond Way, a sixty-mile circular walk centred on Moreton-in-Marsh. Copies of the guide book to this walk "The Diamond Way" (3rd Edition 2026) are available, as is the guide to "30 Sparkling Walks", which are 30 circular walks, all based on the Diamond Way. Both are available at a price of £8.00 plus £2.00 p&p. Contact Simon Jones on simorjones@outlook.com (misspelling intentional) or ring 07930183489
