Walking in the South Hams
Four distinctly different types of scenery and terrain is what makes our South Hams so special. Walk with us and discover the coastal paths of South Devon, Dartmoor National Park just to the north, the glorious South Hams countryside in between and five beautiful estuaries that punctuate this southerly tip of Devon.
We enjoy some of the best of the South West Coast Path, from Noss Mayo in the west, around Salcombe and onto Dartmouth in the east.
Much of South Hams countryside is within the South Devon National Landscape, comprising of deep green valleys between soft rounded hills, native forests and rivers extending from springs on Dartmoor all the way to five glorious estuaries. Historic Totnes is the heart town of the South Hams.
Close by to the north we have the contrast of the wilderness of Dartmoor, which is so different it is like stepping into another country.
