Group name: Skegness and Horncastle
This group is a part of Lincolnshire Area.
The Skegness & Horncastle group covers the eastern part of Lincolnshire, stretching from the parish of Friskney in the south, Wragby in the West and Theddlethorpe All Saints in the north and includes the major towns of Skegness, Horncastle, Mablethorpe, Spilsby and Alford. Our group has 105 parishes and 655 public rights of way in its area.
Our group have a diverse membership of around 90 people who organise a regular programme of walks throughout the east Lincolnshire area, including the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB and the coastal area. Most walks tend to be 8 to 11 miles in length with a few shorter 4 to 6 mile walks.
We are a
small friendly group who welcome newcomers to come along and explore the footpaths and bridleways of the Lincolnshire countryside. Please wear appropriate footwear and bring a packed lunch and drink on day walks. Obviously, if people enjoy walking with us, after two or three walks we would expect them to join the Ramblers.
In addition to our walks programme, the group monitors the condition of the local public footpaths and work to resolve footpath issues for the benefit of the local community and visitors to the area.
