Overview

A strenuous and challenging figure of eight walk around Castleton and Edale, criss crossing the Great Ridge. Spectacular views, but please be aware there is a steep and rocky climb up Cavedale at the start of the walk which will be slippery after rain. Route will be amended to remove this section is the weather has been poor.

Refreshments and toilets available in both Castleton and Edale.

Dogs welcome but must be on fixed leads - livestock may be present. Some stiles. Please be confident your dog can manage the terrain and the distance.

Meet at Castleton visitor Centre for a 10.00am start. Pay & Display parking available at the Visitor Centre or at the Peak Cavern, or there is roadside parking 5 mins walk away on Old Mam Tor Road, just after the junction with Arthur's Way.
