Overview

A moderate walk with a couple of steep climbs, rewarded by the beautiful views. Likely to be some mud and perhaps water-logged areas, so bring poles if you use them. Route: Green Farm, Bowstones, Some road walking on Higher Lane and Cornfield Road, Bailey’s Farm, The Dipping Stone, Whaley Moor, Cock Knoll, The Cage, Timberyard toilets, Haresteads Farm back to Nelson Pit.  

Bring drinks and food for coffee and lunch stops. Lifts available from Handforth area. Contact Melanie 07854 093785.
