Overview

Moderate Medium walk with lovely views.  Mainly good tracks, some road but Cown Edge Way is likely to be muddy and slippery so poles are advised.

Route: Hague Bridge, Mousley Bottom, Millennium Bridge, (coffee stop). Up steps to town. (Rock Mill Centre public toilet should be open). New Mills Golf Club, past Fox Inn at Brookbottom, Mellor and Townscliffe Golf Club, Cown Edge Way, River Goyt, Windybottom Farm, Greenclough Farm, Whitecroft Farm, Strines, Canal path and Hagg Bank Lane back to Dandy Cock and start point.

Bring food and drink for coffee and lunch stops.

Small free carpark bottom left of Disley station approach. If full, park on Jackson’s Edge Road (coming from Stockport on the left at traffic lights in centre of Disley). We walk past the traffic lights to Hollinwood Road (side of the Dandy Cock), so you can wait for us at lights or Dandy Cock shortly after 10.00 am if you prefer.
