Overview

A lovely stroll through woods, along lanes and river banks.  We walk through part of Tortworth Arboretum, past Leyhill Prison and visit the Tortworth Sweet Chestnut which may well be the oldest specimen in the country.  We follow the Little Avon River and after a short climb up the road we drop down through the woods, through some fields and back to the start.

We can then drive back avoiding the motorway, stopping for a drink in one of the pubs along the way.
