Are you interested in leading a route for Stag Walkers? Thinking about volunteering a walk but not sure how to go about it? If so, why not join us in Hitchin at cosy local pub the Albert to talk about walks and pencil some dates into our summer walk programme, with the option of enjoying a pub dinner and drinks.
Whether you’re an experienced walk leader or just thinking about giving it a go, come along and have a chat with members of the Stag Walkers committee and other experienced leaders.
We’ll have various maps, guide books and information to help you put a walk in the calendar. If you’re looking for new routes to share with the group, want to meet other members to do a practice walk or co-lead, or if you have any questions about planning or leading walks, please ask and we can help.
All our group walks and other activities are organised by volunteer members and we encourage all Ramblers members to consider getting involved. It’s fun, rewarding and might be easier than you think!
What about dinner?
If all this talking about walking makes you hungry, don’t worry, the Albert kitchen will be serving pub classics like fish & chips, pies and burgers, including a vegan option. You can view the menu on the pub's website.
And if you’re feeling thirsty, there are various craft beers, real ales, non-alcoholic and soft drinks to choose from.
If you’d prefer not to eat at the pub, you are still welcome to drop in at any time!
Where is it?
The Albert, 50 Walsworth Road, Hitchin, SG4 9SU.
The pub is just a few minutes’ walk from Hitchin railway station or free parking is available after 6pm five minutes' walk away at Queen Mother Theatre car park, Woodside, Walsworth Road, Hitchin, SG4 9SP.
Feel free to join us at any time during the evening. We’ll be at the pub from 7.30pm onwards.

What if I can't make it?

- 19 August
- 16 September
Please note booking (via Eventbrite) closes for the online sessions 24 hours before each event.
