Overview

A picturesque walk through some of Calderdale’s prettiest landscape, from Luddendenfoot village,  over the moors to Churn Milk Joan, and ascending past Castle Carr to lunch at the beautiful Cold Edge Dams. Then it’s downhill all the way back to a welcome drink at the historic Lord Nelson pub, where Branwell Brontë was a past customer. This is a hilly walk, which could be challenging for novice walkers.

Meet at the CP on Luddenden Lane, just before the road fork that takes you into Luddenden village. This is a donations honesty box, so some change is needed. It is a popular spot for churchgoers so come in good time or consider car-sharing or public transport. There is a regular bus service along Burnley Road with a short walk up.
