A walk that is inspired by King Harold’s march to the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Harold was crowned King of England on 6th January 1066. This set in motion a chain of events from the Battle of Stamford Bridge and ended in defeat at the Battle of Hastings.
This is the extra section from Battle to Hastings. We start at Battle. There is a climb up to Telham Hill and descent through the RSPB Foremark Wood to Crowhurst. Then we walk through Combe Valley Country Park to St Leonards and a walk along the promenade to Hastings Castle.
This walk will be repeated for those going on the Weekend away to Hastings on Saturday 12th October 2024.
Please bring a packed lunch as we will not be having a long lunch break.

The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors, such as, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken
