Overview

🌿 Join us for a hilly winter circuit around Nailsworth, exploring beautiful woodlands and valleys in the Cotswolds. We'll take it steady on this challenging but rewarding route!

📍 Location: The Old Lodge, Minchinhampton Common
📅 Date: Sunday 4th January
⏳ Time: 09:45am meet (prompt 10:00am start)
🗺 Distance: 6.2 miles (10km)
🚕 Parking: The Old Lodge car park (Minchinhampton Common, Stroud GL6 9AQ). Free parking with plenty of spaces, but car sharing is appreciated if it gets busy.

👣 Walk Description:
Starting from The Old Lodge on Minchinhampton Common, this circular route takes us through Box and Hazel Woods, past Barton End and Horsley, into High Wood, and by Dunkirk Mills before looping back.
It's a hilly walk with some steady climbs and descents, and likely to be muddy in places after recent weather, so we'll go at a comfortable pace. Expect beautiful woodland trails and great Cotswold views along the way.
All going well, we should finish around 2:30-3:00pm.

  • Free parking at The Old Lodge (GL6 9AQ). Plenty of space available, including for car sharing.

👟 Attire and Footwear: Dress appropriately for the weather. Sturdy walking boots are highly recommended for your comfort and safety.
