This walk originally appeared in Country Walking Magazine. It has been reviewed 14 times achieving an average rating of 4.1 out of 5 stars. The author, Julie Royle, describes it as follows.
This is an area people usually just pass through as they travel between the honeypots of Stratford and Warwick. And, to be fair, maybe it doesn’t seem to offer much when seen from the road. But get off the beaten track and you quickly discover there is much to enjoy as you explore the charming villages of Alveston and Loxley and their bucolic environs. Alveston is particularly seductive, with many lovely houses, but Loxley rivals it with a hilltop setting and a partly Saxon church beautifully positioned overlooking the topiary-ornamented gardens of Loxley Hall.
