Overview

This loopy meandering ramble is a tribute to the late Alwyn Price who lead a similar walk late last century. Starting in Minwear Woods we use paths, tracks and country lanes to explore the corners of Minwear and Cannaston Woods. Surfaces vary from tarmac to gravel tracks to earthen woodland paths, with occasional stream crossings.  Whilst we take advantage of hardened routes some mud is expected.
Due to the winding nature of the route we are able to offer a 6 or 8 or 10 mile ramble. Please note that the 6 mile ramble has a 2 mile self guided section at the end of the route, the 8 mile ramble has a 1 mile self guided section. The self guided section of the ramble follows the knight’s way. The briefing at the start of the ramble will explain how this will work.
