Starting in historic Old Amersham we'll continue through the woods and fields of the Chiltern countryside passing villages that were once hives of industry, now charming quiet backwaters. Bluebells are a possibility, red kites highly likely and - at least some - mud a near certainty.
Lunch stop at Penn where there are plenty of seats for a picnic and a welcoming pub for a quick drink.
Optional car share from Barnet: Victors Way Car Park, EN5 5TR, leaving 09:00 (25 miles).
Amersham car park - free on Sundays.
