All walkers very welcome to join us whether or not you have done any of the previous sections of the West Anglian Way. Section 4 is mainly along the delightful River Stort, taking in the small villages of Gaston Green, Lower Sheering and Sawbridgeworth before reaching Harlow. When approaching Harlow we will walk through Pishiobury Park. This is a registered historic parkland (Grade 2 star) with a history starting in the Neolithic period; evidence of Roman occupation and links to Henry V111. The park has "Capability" Brown style landscape features.
The walk is flat but may be muddy after rain. No obstacles on the way. There is a planned lunch stop after 5 miles at "The Shed" cafe in the Maltings at Sawbridgeworth where you can get a hot drink and cake if required. Please bring food and drink for the rest of the walk. We will finish with a drink at the Toby Carvery which is 50 yards from Harlow Town Station.
