This walk takes in Bakewell's picturesque waterfront (with its old and newer, more quirky bridges), an old station once used as the Duke's local halt, a small village church that has to be seen to be believed, the iconic Golden Gates entrance to Chatsworth, Chatsworth itself (one of the largest and grandest houses in England) and the superb architecture of Edensor village (where past Dukes and the sister of a President were laid to rest).

Due to return bus times, you must be fit enough to expect to be able to walk 9 miles (and factor in lunch and toilet stops) in 5 hours 15 minutes. There are no major ascents on the route, which is a mixture oif muddy fields and surfaced lanes/tracks/roads.
