This linear walk from the Cat & Fiddle public House to Macclesfield is a strenuous hike around the Western side of the Peak District National Park.
Our first stop is the beautiful waterfalls and Packhorse bridges of Three Shires Head, where the counties of Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire meet. We then venture on, through Wildboarclough, before we start the first of two big climbs, to the top of Shuttlingsloe. We then wander through Macclesfield Forest for a while before tackling the strenuous climb up to the viewpoint at Teggs Nose.
It's downhill all the way from there, via a well deserved rest at the visitor centre, through fields and along the canal to Macclesfield.
There are no bail out points on this walk, so make sure you can walk the full distance with some steep climbing thrown in.
