A new easy / medium walk of 7 1/2 miles taking in lovely views of the Sussex countryside, farmland, reservoir and the splendid Ouse Valley Viaduct! It is not flat but has no long steep hills, there are some steps and a couple of stiles. We start from Ardingly reservoir free carpark, nearest post code is RH17 6SQ, when you get close to the end follow the reservoir signs. There is a cafe and toilets at the start. Walking from the reservoir after a couple of fields we see and then pass under the spectacular viaduct which carries the main London to Brighton railway over the Ouse Valley. From here there is a longer section of farmland and woods, including a DIY coffee stop, before we reach Balcombe village where we will stop for our picnic lunch. It is then a short walk to reach the northern end of the reservoir and we follow the path along side it back to the start.
Start time 10.15 and finish by 3.15pm
