Meet at Moor Lane, opposite the entry to Staines Moor, where the footpath crosses. There are usually cars parked along the road but there are normally adequate spaces.
The walk will start at 10am and include Church Lammas Quarry, the Thames, Shortwood Common, Staines Reservoirs, Stanwell, Staines Moor and the Disused Railway.
There are limited opportunities for coffee or lunch so please bring your own. There are facilities at the Lammas and Staines Station. We will probably have our lunch picnic on the green in Stanwell.
During the recce there were swarms of fly's on path across the reservoirs so bring a hat. They are not very nice, but they don't bite. We can divert the route to miss the reservoirs if it's too bad.
The walk is about 9 miles. There are 3 stiles on the route. It's currently quite dry, but it could change, so wear boots.
If you would like to join this walk contact Mark B by 7pm the night before. 07770 645853.
