Sunday 19th AprilOckham & Wisley landscapes

Meet 09:00 at Staines Station (optional) for car transfer to Ockham Bites café free carpark for a 10.00 start. (Exit the M25 Junction 10 and join the A3 South towards Guildford then almost immediately turn 1st left into Old Lane and then left again into Ockham Bites car park). This 9.1/2 mile walk will see some of the new M25/A3 junction re-landscaping and also view the early works transforming old Wisley Aerodrome into new parkland and housing. We will later pass through Orchard Farm and the two kissing gates and bridge that our group installed on the Footpath Work Day back in March 2017. We will finish passing the little known, hidden away Samuelson Mausoleum (1919) "temple of sleep" and the Chatley Heath Semaphore Tower (1822). Picnic lunch on Downside Common (nr. Cricketers pub).
