This is a walk from the village pub to Duddenhoe Grange. The route out goes past Steven's End, Godwell's Grove and Cooper's End. The return takes in Little Fosters, Chardwell Farm and Knock 'emdown Grove
We have not walked in this area much recently. The route takes us on a very gentle incline westwards from Arkesden to the corner of High Wood (which we normally access from the north or the west).
As always the origins of the place names on the OS map are becoming more obscure as time passes.
Park carefully in the road near to the Axe and Compasses pub. The pub should be open on our return for drinks. I will seek to get permission for some cars to use the pub car park nearer to the time but where possible please lift share.
