Overview

This  walk follows the Robin Hood Way north west along the river Greet, and comes south through Norwood Park and down through fields and quiet minor roads through the grounds of Brackenhurst College, back to Southwell.  It is generally flat with 2 stiles.   Car parking is free on a Sunday at the car park opposite the cathedral on Church Street. Toilets are available at the park where we start the walk.

The walk will finish early afternoon and Southwell cathedral  is worth a visit at the end of the walk.

Come into Southwell and turn sharp Right at the Saracen's Head Inn, into Church Street. The car park is downhill on the left and is signposted. If you are coming by bus from Nottingham, take the Number 26 at 9.05 a.m. from King Street, bay K1. The journey is about 40 minutes. Alight on Church Street where the car park and start are found. To return to Nottingham after the walk, the number 26 goes from Hillside Avenue, half a mile from Church Street, at five minutes past the hour and is hourly (details to be rechecked nearer the time).
