We are the East Cheshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
From Ashford in the Water north to Great Longstone via Churchdale Hall. We continue northwards along Moor Lane before crossing Longstone Moor and onto Wardlow. We descend into CressbrookDale and head south to cross the River Wye over the newly constructed bridge at Cressbrook Mill and join the Monsal Trail. We follow the trail eastwards crossing the iconic Headstone Viaduct before a steepish ascent to Monsal Head then follow field paths back to Ashford. Total ascent 1200ft (Outdoor Active). Meet At Ashford in the Water Car Park in centre of village off Court Lane. Toilets. Honesty box parking charge £2, toilets 20p. Small Car Park only has 12 spaces, alternative parking available on nearby streets.
