Leaving from the Visitor Centre at Ashridge we drop down to the very attractive village of Aldbury, setting of many a Midsomer Murders. Our walk takes us through Stocks golf course we pick up the Ridgeway Path, through Aldbury Nowers an attractive nature reserve, Grims Ditch, Pitstone Hill. If you are feeling particulary fit, there is the option of Steps Hill, alternatively there is an easier option. We continue our walk along the Ridgeway, reaching Beacon Hill, Gallows Hill and returning along Duncombe Terrace. Excellent views, weather permitting across the rolling hills of the Chilterns. Could be muddy in places, sturdy footwear/poles recommended. Lunch stop.
Toilets available at the Visitors Centre at the start of the walk.. A few hills, moderate pace. Refreshments available at the end of the walk in the National Trust cafe.
Well behaved dogs are allowed.
