The walk is mainly flat except the final part where we do have a bit of a climb. However there are steps and railings to help us up. There are no stiles. The M40 is a noise feature for the last part of the walk. Some paths may be very muddy after rain and poles may be useful as well.
We walk to the view point along the sculpture trail and enjoy lovely views across the Oxford Vale. We then come back to walk along a permissive path through one of the finest blue bell woods I have seen, in the National trust Aston Woods. With a backdrop of yellow rape seed in the field behind it is a pretty picture. We will stop for lunch at the end of the woods where there are some fallen tree trunks we can make use of. This part of the wood is Juniper Bank once an old cart road from Stokenchurch to Wheatley. We drop down to walk along the Ridgeway which runs alongside the old disused railway line formerly the Watlington to Risborough line and then come back to our start point along the lower edge of the reserve and back up to the car park.
Well behaved dogs are allowed.
After the walk we may visit the nearby Fox and hounds PH for refreshments if we so wish.
