Ipswich ramblers group holiday to Bakewell
We walk through Hay Wood, onto Froggatt Edge which leads onto Curbar Edge. We then drop down to Curbar Gap, walk uphill onto White Edge across moorland and eventually return to the A625
Option to have lunch or a drink at The grouse at the end of the walk.
This is only a short distance and easy route from the car park so anyone not wishing to stop - no problem.
It could be hot and sunny so don't forget water and sun screen.
National Trust car park on Longshaw Estate in Hay Wood. Parking free for members, £4.50 for non-members. DO NOT USE POSTCODE. This will leave you 5 miles from the car park. Directions From Bakewell follow A619 toward Baslow/Sheffield for 0.6 mile T left onto Hassop Road B6001 After 4m cross A623 at Calver. After 350yd, fork R onto A625 Follow twisty Road uphill for 2.5m and on left is National Trust Longshaw Car Park. It’s actually in Hay Wood. (Do not head for visitor centre Longshaw Estate!!)
