BOOKING ESSENTIAL to guarantee return lifts. Meet at Lavenham so that shared cars/return lifts can be organised. Assistance dogs also need to be booked in – other dogs will have to organise their own transport!
The walk begins in beautiful Hadleigh passing through the churchyard and past historic buildings before heading out through the rolling countryside towards the fascinating village of Kersey with its famous "splash," where we will have our apple stop. We will continue to pretty Lindsey Tye with its varied architecture, where we will stop for lunch on the green. After lunch we continue through the rolling mid-Suffolk countryside towards Swingleton Green before descending into Monks Eleigh, where we will have a brief water stop. We will then return to Lavenham via Clay Lane, admiring the historic buildings of this lovely village as we return to the car park.
Good views across a gently rolling landscape, with pretty Suffok villages that prospered through the wool trade. One steepish descent (some steps) on the path from Swingleton Green towards Monks Eleigh. Please bring a packed lunch and a drink. Toilets available in the car parks at the beginning and end of the walk.
