Overview

There are several stiles on the walk and may be horses in a field.
A varied and amazingly flat walk from Beaconsfield Old Town. Two mild inclines towards the end. We cross the motorway and walk near the Hall Barn estate, a grade II listed manor house and private residence but not a lot to see. We then pass by Fairview House which has a few animals in the grounds and we may be lucky to spot deer and cassowarys. (I should like to credit Alan S for alerting me the deer park).

We are then through woods and fields before a good stretch on a quiet lane to avoid the busier roads and emerge near Odds farm. There are hundreds of pumpkins growing in the fields here. We then take a risk by using a path with an archery firing range on one side and and a golf course on the other. No one on either on my recce! With care along a busy road for a few minutes we arrive at Farm wood where we will stop for lunch on the handy picnic benches. We continue into Farm wood to Berghers Hill and join the Chiltern way through the lovely Mill wood.
We skirt the local cemetery and climb some steps to once again cross the M40. We need to cross the A40 which may be busy before we walk
back to the garden centre where we can have refreshments in the new café. There is a wonderful selection of cakes. There is an outdoor covered area if any dogs are attending.
Please bring a packed lunch.
We will have a snack stop after approx. 1 hour.
Toilets at the garden centre
Well behaved dogs are allowed.
