This walk will be led by John Beirne from National Trust who will be able to inform us of the History, Flora and Fauna of the area. A circular walk taking in some fantastic vistas across Belton and Grantham. Taking the bridal path adjacent to Syston Hall, which was the home of Sir John Thorold and the home of Britain's first motor race circuit. The route takes us up Whipperstall Hill via Green Lane, through Gashouse Plantation and past South Lodge. Then towards Barkston Airfield, a former WW2 bomber air field before heading down to Barkston Village. Walking along the River Witham and then heading up to Peascliff Tunnel before returning to Belton Estate via Belton Hotel.

If not say you are there for the Newark Ramblers Walk being led by John Beirne and you will get free entry to the car park. Toilets at start and finish only. Gates to the Car Park only open at 9.30am
