Overview

Walkers must book in advance with the walk leader

A walk near Callander in three parts. Initially alongside the River Teith but then changing to a steady climb to the summit of Ben Ledi before descending eroded hillpaths and finally returning along high level forest tracks to the start.

Follow disused old railway line route by outflow from Loch Lubnaig (now a cycle path) then follow the main hill track up Ben Ledi to the summit and then back via Stank Glen and forest access roads.

Local Grade: B+

Terrain: Steep in places going up the hill, some sections of large slab steps. The ascent eases somewhat after the 600 meter level and follows a clear trail to the summit. The descent into Stank Glen is likely to be boggy in places but good once down in the glen on forest tracks.

Max height: 879 m.
