Walking in Helensburgh & West Dunbartonshire
We are a group of walkers from the Kilcreggan, Garelochhead, Helensburgh, Balloch and Dumbarton area although walkers from the surrounding area frequently join our walks. We welcome walkers from all over Britain and are always keen to talk to members of other groups to see how they organise their walks.
We organise at least one walk every weekend with an occasional mid-week walk. Our walks vary from easy strolls in the countryside along good tracks and paths to arduous scrambles up mountains with no paths and all types of walk in-between.
Our walking community
Our experienced leaders have a great deal of knowledge of our local hills and little-known pathways. We are very fortunate in our area to have such a varied landscape of glorious hills and lochs including Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond.
The group is always delighted to welcome new or novice walkers along on their walks. Not only do we have our regular walks but also, every Monday morning we meet in a café for coffee and a blether where we discuss previous walks, future walks or simply put the world to rights.
You are very welcome to come along on one of our walks to experience for yourself the pleasure of walking in the Scottish countryside. You’ve seen the outside of clouds – we can show you the inside of a cloud!
