This walk starts with a short ascent on a quiet paved road followed by unpaved paths through trees, along fields, woods and bush with outstanding surrounding views. We go through Hadleigh Country Park and then up to Hadleigh Castle; thereafter descending to Leigh-on-Sea for a lunch stop. Please bring a packed lunch.
The latter section of the walk is on flat terrain along the coastal path with the option of looping around ‘Two Three Island’ before rejoining the coastal path back to Benfleet Station.
Exit point for a shorter walk: Leigh on Sea after four miles.
No dogs.
No booking required; Neither is it necessary to txt or email beforehand to join the walk.
We will be walking at a brisk pace from start to finish.
Travel:
Take the 10:34 train from London Fenchurch Street, (West Ham 10:43; Upminster 10:56) arrives Benfleet at 11:16. Buy a return to Benfleet or if a Freedom pass and senior railcard holder a day rover ticket.
