A brisk undulating circular walk with the opportunity to stop, take in the lovely Chiltern countryside and get out your pens and pencils to sketch a couple of views before we head off again.
Once we leave Chesham the walk sets out along the Chiltern Link and takes us to Asheridge where we will stop for a picnic lunch (and a sketch of the pub?). There are seats on the grass opposite the Blue Ball pub where you can get a refreshing drink (not lunch please as time doesn't permit). From there we continue along paths through more farmland and woodland before returning to Chesham.
There are some steep hills and stiles. One field usually has horses grazing there. No dogs please.
No need to bring anything fancy for sketching and do give it a go even if you don't think you can draw (you can!). Just a pen or pencil and notebook will be fine.
Chesham is served by the Metropolitan Line and the timetable shows a train arriving at 10.17 (via Finchley Road at 9.25). Trains are half hourly so if you miss this train, we will not be able to wait unfortunately.
No booking required.
The finishing time is an estimate and will depend on the size and speed of the group and the number of stops (for a break and sketching) we take.
