A WALK DESCRIPTION: Around Bewdley & the Wyre Forest: Walk: 11 miles, 1060 ft total ascent. Leader: Peter Searle. Starting adjacent to Blackstone Riverside Park, the route climbs alongside Ribbesford Woods, passing Horsehill Farm and Park End, to reach the Wyre Forest Visitor Centre for the morning break. We soon leave the busy paths, to pass through Oxbind Coppice and Brandlodge Coppice. After crossing a few fields, we descend to Dowles Brook in the Wyre Forest National Nature Reserve for our picnic lunch. For the next several miles the route follows Dowles Brook down to its confluence with the River Severn, then along the riverbank to Bewdley, where we can have a pub stop. From here it is about a mile further along the riverbank to return to our start point and the coach.
