Overview

If you’re thinking of entering your local stile leaping contest, this would make a good training run!  At a rough reckoning there are around 10.  Apart from that fatal flaw, the route runs though a part of Bishops Waltham to begin before we pick up a footpath but after this the walk is largely footpaths and open fields.  We follow the Park Lug (medieval deer park boundary) and the River Hamble past the sewage works and back to Bishops Waltham.

When we recced this (two and a half weeks prior to the walk) there was mud, and sporadic boggy areas in some fields.  Usual caveat of wellies/boots/poles applies!

Please note that although there was no livestock in evidence when we walked through, a length of the route is working dairy farm and horticultural business.  Dogs should be kept on leads.
