This is a lovely walk with far reaching views to the north and along the Black Mountain escarpment above Talgarth. This is a strenuous walk due to the initial steep climb on a rocky path but the effort is well worth the views. We will also be walking along escarpments to get the best views. However, we are starting the walk already quite high up and our main climb is before coffee. There will be plenty of time to stop and enjoy the views as we walk around the edge of Y Das and onto YGrib. We then descend Dragons Back ridge to Castell Dinas. Our path then follows rough moorland tracks back to our cars. If the weather is not suitable for a high level walk (strong wind, rain and poor visibility) there will be an alternative low level option from the same starting point.
