A walk with David to Winster and return. A walk which will include twelve stiles and two stiffish ascents, one at the very beginning, as we leave Bonsall via the steps opposite The Fountain Café, the first 340 yards steep, with a gain of 100 feet, there after for the next mile, lesser elevation up to Bonsall Moor. The second is similar to the first, after lunch as we leave Winster on the return leg. The are five fields with cattle on them and several with sheep. Some wonderful autumnal views, especially on the way back. Morning break at 2.1 miles at Whitelow Farm. Lunch in Winster 4.1 miles around 12.15ish. Toilets at start and finish and also at lunch time, 50p is requested for the use of these.
Risk Assessment Minor roads in Bonsall and Winster, keep right and be aware of parked cars, which will, in some places, necessitate walking into the road to pass them. Most paths have a Limestone covering so maybe slippery if wet, especially be careful of step stones near stiles, much used and smooth. All stiles are sound, but being wood, they will be slippery if wet. Small rocks on some paths, take care Tripping hazard. In fields where there are cattle, keep in line, we will avoid them where necessary, they are very large fields so we may not encounter any at all. We return to Bonsall down a long flight of steps, some are uneven, take care. 07918882152 my contact number whilst walking
