**This walk is part of the Bradford-on-Avon Getaway which is fully booked**
A very scenic 6.7mile circular walk, starting in Bradford on Avon town center, then heading out of town passing the Bridge & Lock-up and Saxon Church on the way. The walk runs parallel to the railway line before ascending to the pretty village of Winsley with great views over the Avon valley. It continues over farmland and across horse racing gallops followed by a steep descend down to the Kennet and Avon canal. It follows the canal to the Avon Aqueduct where we will pause for a while to take in the views. (Here there is also an option if required, to take the train from Avoncliff Station back to BoA, thereby reducing the walk length by 1.5 miles). The walk then continues back along the towpath passing many houseboats on the way. Finally we come to Barton Farm containing several fine buildings including a 14th century Tithe Barn which you can go inside to view.
Leisurely but with one steep descent. Two stiles.
Boots and walking poles recommended. Could be muddy in places after rain.
Public toilets in station car park.
