This is a leisurely circular walk with some historic buildings. The route takes us along the Bourne into Chertsey passing the remains of Chertsey Abbey, Chertsey Water Works and Laleham Burway before getting to Penton Park (near Penton Lock Marina) . We walk into Thorpe village then along Monks Walk and through the centre of the Thorpe Park complex. The walk is almost entirely flat with a few short ascents/descents and one concrete stile. There is some road walking on quiet roads. About half the paths are surfaced, the other half grass and dirt paths which could be muddy after rain. Bring a drink and snack for a refreshment break.

Meet in St Ann's Road, Chertsey alongside Pyrcroft Grange Primary School parking along St Ann's Road. This is the section of St Ann's Road that runs from a large roundabout to a small roundabout junction with Pyrcroft Road and Ruxbury Road.
