This is a joint coach trip with Slough U3A to visit Wakehurst Botanic Garden on the High Weald of West Sussex. This is a Royal Botanic Garden and a sister garden to Kew Gardens, over 500 acres and home to the Millennium Seed Bank. For those who like to explore there is a 2-hour optional walk around the diverse landscapes and plants from across the globe. Entrance is free to National Trust members and Kew Garden members, otherwise the group entry is £14.75. Coach fare is £20. This undulating walk is on fairly good paths and will finish at some picnic tables for a picnic lunch and also very close to a restaurant that serves snacks and meals. Bring a drink and snack to have on the walk. There is Wakehurst Place and the Millennium seed bank to explore in the afternoon
Meet in the car park in Upton Court Park, Slough at 8.45 to board the coach which will leave at 9am. The coach will leave Wakehurst at 3.30pm for the return journey to Slough. The journey time is just over one hour. There are toilets in the visitor centre when we got get off the coach. Please bring NT or Kew membership cards.
